Habitat Enhancement
Hunters and Trappers are often mistaken to be cruel and heartless people that have no regard or respect for living beings. Well for me and the people I associate with, this is a gross misconception. Through habitat enhancement programs we sportsmen do more for preserving healthy wildlife populations than any and all (anti hunting) groups combined. I am an avid sportsman and that is plainly evident from the content of this site. What should also be evident is my profound respect and adoration I have for wildlife. They are the main subjects in my drawings and my life truly wouldn’t be the same without them. I spend countless hours and hundreds of dollars each year involved in habitat enhancement projects on my property. Whether it be erecting birdhouses, upgrading wetlands or the planting of forage plots, the results have been astounding with the dramatic increase in healthy wildlife populations and I find that very rewarding. Venison is my primary source of meat and the planting of forage plots is my way of giving something back and helping to maintain a healthy and balanced deer herd. Food plot plantations are often mistaken as "baiting" or "farming" deer and nothing could be further from the truth. A few high nutritional forage plots will provide dozens of deer with numerous tons of high protein browse for several months or the year. The hunter that provides this nutritional forage is helping the maintenance of the herd considerably more than the hunter who doesn’t, regardless if he takes a deer or two from his property. In this day and age with our ever expanding developments and continuous degradation of our enviornment, natural habitat is in constant decline. Through this delcine of natural places, wildlife are are continually crowded into smaller areas resulting in overcrowding, starvation and ultimately less and less wildlife all together. If you enjoy viewing wildlife on your property, planting a forage plot can have astonishing results with attracting and maintaining healthy wildlife populations on your property.

High Pro Forage
This is a high protein blend with a perennial legume forage base and lots of first year biomass potential. Spring planting will provide maximum production, although late summer planting in adequate moisture can provide a lush fall food plot. When planted by itself or with an early season cover crop like soybeans, this blend will provide a tremendous multi layered forage source. High Pro is a unique blend of annual brassicas, perennial clovers and birdsfoot trefoil. The brassicas are both forage type. One is a hybrid forage turnip and the other is a forage rape. Both provide early season high protein browse with great re-growth qualities. They also serve as a cover crop for establishing the perennial clovers consisting of our New Zealand type grazing style ladino clover, alsike clover, and medium red clover. It is very frost tolerant so it is also good for late season activity and is highly attractive after frost in the first year.

Rack Maker Blend
This high protein forage blend includes several special legume varieties. It is designed to provide a general four-season food plot. The main alfalfa is a dairy type with fine stems and lots of leaf which deer find very attractive. The ladino clover is a New Zealand grazing type, which will withstand a lot of browsing pressure, early and late in the year. In addition, this blend also contains berseem clover and birdsfoot trefoil. Berseem comes up quickly and acts as a cover crop. Birdsfoot has a fine stem and fine leaf making it good browse. And it is extremely hardy. The very high disease resistance and persistence of this blend make it a great choice for a long-term food plot.
